Taxis in Chile are relatively cheap and safe. They can be easily recognized as they are painted black with a yellow roof.
In Viña del Mar, the fares are approximately CHP$XXX, plus CHP$xx by each km of distance taken (or by minute of waiting).
The fare is indicated on the windshield, and the taximeter should be visible for the passenger.
