“Este hotel me encantó. No hay que dejarse engañar por su imagen exterior, su fachada no tiene ningún atractivo especial, pero una vez que entras a la recepción te das cuenta que su ambiente es bien moderno, muy limpio y muy tranquilo.

Está muy bien ubicado frente a una plaza y cerca de un sector lleno de restaurantes y bares, sin embargo no se escuché ningún ruido molesto desde mi habitación (N°22), dormí realmente bien, la cama, almohadas y sábanas de calidad. La decoración sobria, moderna, muy bien.

El baño amplio con toallas blancas. El desayuno buffet excelente, con fruta fresca además de todo lo clásico. Y todo el personal fue sumamente amable, eficientes y con buena disposición. Lo recomiendo totalmente.”

Perfectly located hotel for both Vina del Mar and Valparaiso

Very friendly and clean hotel and perfectly positioned for the seafront at Vina del Mar. Great choice for breakfast with lots of fresh fruit, breads, ham, cheese etc. The rooms are light and airy with wall mounted flat screen tv’s and the beds large and comfortable. The staff are friendly, english-speaking and most helpful, freely offering advice on where to eat or how best to get from one place to another. The railway line to Valparaiso is only a few hundred metres from the hotel, thus making this an ideal base from which to explore both towns. If I am fortunate enough to be able to go back one day to Vina/Valpe I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Excellent location, great starting point for exploring Viña del Mar

“This hotel is made up of two (or three??) old houses that have been remodeled and interconnected so as to make the whole complex feel like a nice, cozy B&B. Believe me, after spending a frigid night up in the snow in Farallones, this was a great warm place at which to hang our hats.
The room decor is nice, and we were lucky to get a room in the back (I can imagine how one may be able to hear some noise on the rooms near the street, though). We had absolutely no problems with WiFi or fixed Internet access on the Macintosh computers right outside our door in the hall way.
Staff is friendly, although I did not perceive them to go exceedingly out of their way to help (for example, no one offered to take the bags ups for us to the second floor). Despite this, I later figured out (after some time in Chile) that this was just a cultural bias on my part; these folks were being helpful and friendly in their own way (a bit reserved, and disconnected, that is). Nevertheless, they did help us when we asked where we could find different spots (for example, they directed us to Concon for the best empanadas in the area).
Breakfast is basic but everything there was fresh. Check-in and check-out were trouble free and without hassles. And best of all, we were in a great location for walking around the shore and the tourist section of the city.
I definitely recommend this place and we would go back to it again.”

Muy buena ubicación, habitaciones cómodas

“El personal muy atento y simpático, habitaciones remodeladas, modernas y cómodas. La ubicación es muy buena, frente al casino y en zona muy tranquila.

En días fríos la calefacción es muy buena es un hotel pequeño y acogedor. Solamente son poco flexibles para un late checkout.”

Comodidad y excelente servicio en la mejor zona de Viña del Mar

“Llevo mes y medio hospedada en este hotel, y la verdad que es maravilloso. Está muy bien situado, al lado del casino y de la playa, en la zona má exclusiva de Viña.

Te dan una atención totalmente personalizada adaptándose a tus necesidades. El personal es amable y atento, y el servicio de habitaciones rapidísimo, cuando te suben el desayuno la tostadas aún están calientes!! Las habitaciones son amplias, con buena luz y con bonitas vistas.

La cama es grande y cómoda. Disponen de un plasma, un sillón, una silla y una mesa además de las mesitas de noche, es realmente como un saloncito muy acogedor.

El armario tiene una caja fuerte dentro, de uso gratuito, muy útil para guardar cosas de valor. En el baño hay un radiador de pared y otro en el dormitorio, por lo que la habitación puede estar a la temperatura que se prefiera. Además el baño hay abundante agua muy caliente y todos los dias te ponen geles, champú… etc y te cambian las toallas.

Está todo muy limpio, y la habitación incluso me la han arreglado varias veces en el mismo dia. Tiene desayuno incluido con zumos, café, té, leche, frutas, cereales, yogur, diferentes tipos de panes, galletas, quesos… excelente para comenzar el día!! Y el personal es amabilísimo, cualquier cosa ue necesiten consultenles, a mi me han ayudado siempre.

También dispone de garaje y wifi gratuito. Sin duda, me alojaré aquí siempre que venga a Viña del Mar”.

Quaint, clean, convenient, & excellent location

“After a weeklong business trip in Santiago, I along with a local colleague decided to stay an extra day and make the trek out to Vina Del Mar. My friend recommended staying at the Hotel Monterilla, because he felt it was convenient to everything where we could walk and not need a car.

Initial Impression:
Pulling up, I thought the hotel was very small from the street, but it extended back into the block fairly far, so it was a larger property upon further inspection. There was a gate which was opened and we parked our car in a protected area.

Check In:
Smooth and efficient. I was given room 34 up on the third floor. No elevator here, so one of the staff hauled my 70lb suitcase up the stairs for me.

The Room:
Not the largest room in the world, but it was comfortable, had a queen-sized bed, a clean bathroom, and everything I needed for a comfortable stay. I noticed that the temperature in Vina Del Mar was about 10 degrees cooler than in Santiago. I mention this, because the room I was in did not have any air-conditioning, but it was cool enough at night where it wasn’t an issue. The only issue was that the window to my room faced out to the front of the hotel and it was somewhat noisy at night, even at 2am when I finally tried to go to bed after our night out. My friend had a room that faced the rear of the hotel and he didn’t have any noise complaints, so keep that in mind when booking.

WiFi:
A huge PLUS…free wifi was available. Why more hotels don’t do that is beyond me.

Restaurant:
There’s a small area as you walk to your room that is used for breakfast in the morning. Expect a continental breakfast. Nothing fancy but you can get cereal, toast, yogurt, coffee, juice, cheeses, meats, etc. Everything you need to get your day started.

The Location:
It is true, this hotel boasts a tremendous location. Essentially, you’re right on the southern end of Avenida Peru, which extends north to the entire length of the beach area of Vina Del Mar. Also, you’re literally just a stone’s throw from the Hotel Del Mar Casino, which is ultra-convenient. There are tons of restaurants, outdoor shops, and markets for your convenience. I woke up Saturday morning around 7:30am, and the entire waterfront belonged to me. Not a soul was out except for the occasional runner or gaggle of stray dogs.

Bottom Line:
If you’re looking for a decent place to stay in a convenient location at a decent price, then this is the place for you. Sure, it was a bit noisy at night, but next time I’ll just get a room at the rear of the hotel and I’ll be happy. Book with confidence!”

El prestigiado blog de tecnología Techcrunch publicó hace un tiempo las maravillas que existen en Chile y en particular las facilidades que tienen los emprendedores para lanzar desde aquí sus nuevas empresas de tecnología.

“Viña del Mar está ubicada justo al lado de los viñedos de Chile, tiene playas magníficas y luce como una versión moderna de Miami.” dice su autor Vivek Wadhwa, emprendedor que ahora ejerce la docencia. Especialista de la UC-Berkeley, Investigador Senior Asociado en la Escuela de Leyes de Harvard y docente de planta en la Universidad de Duke.
